Jelena Gajinović "Power Heart"

Installation, Domplatz, in front of Hotel Achat, Regensburg
Serbian artist Jelena Gajinović draws parallels between the imagery of medieval Minne and the heart code from smart phone chats. The woodcut “Lady Venus and the Lover”, created by Master Caspar in 1495, inspired her to translate the medieval symbols into the present day. Beyond the symbolism of love, Jelena Gajinović's work on rotating steals shows what an important role images have played and continue to play in communication.
