Patricia Westerholz "THINKING LIKE A MOUNTAIN"

Paper, for centuries the bearer of information for people, is the essential formal and design matrix from which Patricia Westerholz's works of layering and graphic structures emerge. The artist cuts the image information directly into the stack of paper.

The work refers to the term Thinking like a mountain by Aldo Leopold. In his book “A Sand County Almanac”, he articulates a new way of thinking, consciousness, and reflection that demands a holistic view of the ecosystem. Through the layering of each individual letter (THINKING LIKE A MOUNTAIN), a pattern of images, that simultaneously allows a view through the cube, is created.
