SATELLITE SOMNIUM K1 (Observatory, Regensburg)

The SOMNIUM K1 satellite will be launched from this location (observatory) into the orbit of Kepler 16b.
The artworks CINEMA SOMNIUM and SATELLITE SOMNIUM explore the fascination of unknown space and the longing for never-before-seen images - a constant in our human society from prehistoric times to the present day. From myths and magic to stories, movies and science, our world is constantly producing dreams of another reality.
Three satellites in the form of minerals and metal crystals made of highly reflective materials are launched from Regensburg with the mission of collecting and transmitting never-before-seen images for a new science fiction film inspired by Johannes Kepler's novel SOMNIUM (The Dream).
